Palm Beach Gardens located in South Florida was developed by John D. MacArthur in around 1959. MacArthur developed plans for approximately 4,000 acres to house around 55,000 people in hopes this new city would be a place to raise a family and earn a living. In 1964 MacArthur donated over $2 Million to develop a clubhouse and golf courses to house the Professional Golfers Association tournaments.
